Pretending to be a cowboy this morning. Cover features the Magnificent Seven but not the original lot; in fact I watched Return of the Seven earlier this year, and – vaguely recommending with faint praise – it isn’t bad. #vinylcommunity #nowplaying

Live, and lively, but you have to strain your ear for snatches of the crowd. Parker on alto sax, Mundell Lowe on guitar, Max Roach on drums, Walter Bishop Jr on piano and Teddy Kotick on bass.

I’ve complained to Kent County Council about their decision, which seems to be have been based on one single call to a councillor. A disgrace, but guessed this kind of thing would be on the way after Reform took control.

Starting this today. Haven’t read anything by Mariana Enriquez before, but received a few of her books as presents during the past year or two.

Keep seeing drummers behind Perspex screens at Glastonbury. Is it a sound thing or have they been quarantined? How can they possibly undertake the signature drummer move of tossing their sticks into the crowd at the end of a set? (Walking to the front and doing it is not cool.) Free the drummers.

Idly wishing that I was at Glastonbury. Or in the Bahamas. Wherever, really, I’m not fussed.

Thinking about that Guy Ritchie King Arthur film, which featured a character called ‘Kung Fu George’ and David Beckham as ‘Trigger’.

I’ve been on a bit of a Tangerine Dream kick of late. Picked up half a dozen of their albums in a record shop in Eastbourne several years ago as they were cheap, and have been playing them on and off for a month or so.
