I’ve been on a bit of a Tangerine Dream kick of late. Picked up half a dozen of their albums in a record shop in Eastbourne several years ago as they were cheap, and have been playing them on and off for a month or so.

Bought at a record fair a couple of years ago. The most sugary, twee elements of 60s psych in hyper-concentrated form. I like their song Small Talk (not included here), but every six months or so I give this another go, and dislike it. Are there albums you refuse to give up on?

… and #nowplaying The Best of Chi-Sound Records (which is fine/good/decent for three sides, and then you hit the slow jams on side 4, which are incredible). Some previous Record Store Day blue vinyl silliness now available for relative peanuts.

The main problem with this is that I just can’t decide which gif of someone eating popcorn is the best one to use.

Not a big fan of coloured vinyl, generally – part of me will forever be a no-nonsense northerner raised on a diet of 1980s wrestling, Findus crispy pancakes and black vinyl being the ONLY choice available – but this amber release makes my knees knock.

Fantastic mix of Irish folk, jazz and post-rock by a Conamara-based nine-piece band, all apparently about the 424 bus route.
