Not sure I agree these 16 'critical safety issues' for designing for active travel all as stringent as needed, particularly vehicle speed only kicking in when 85% of vehicles on road doing 30+mph But glad @ategov.bsky.social rounded these up & updated them: www.gov.uk/government/p... Very helpful.

HT to @bearlypolitics.co.uk who I've been reading for a while now via Substack & rate as absolutely excellent on political analysis for summarising this absolute dunk on X/Twitter/Musk. Also huge HT to @news.sky.com for this in-depth, data-driven investigation into X/Twitter's biased algorithm...

Benicio Del Toro's sublime Sensei is the warm, revolutionary heart of the film. He's there to point out a revolutionary path through all of this chaos that 'works' - kindness, calmness, "no fear". That's how you resist 'the man' and build a progressive movement despite one battle after another.

Angry drivers. A tiny handful of people taking up a massive amount of space. Nearly all were black cabs or sports cars. Many of those journeys could be and should be done other ways. While Oxford Street needs to go motor traffic free all the areas around it in the West End need to go low traffic.

Bumped into @willnorman.co.uk on Oxford Street today and told him pedestrianisation isn't going to go 'far enough'. What a stunning day. Huge crowds showing what is clearly overdue - the traffic needs to go and even then the street is massively crowded. Some of the cross streets had quite a few...

Indeed, there's loads of data showing LTNs work as do all the other interventions London has collectively seen to reduce car use and enable alternatives. Witness London vs other UK cities on traffic volume recovery post Pandemic. "Cars aren't going away" or 'we didn't do enough LTNs in London'?

This is who your London anti LTN usual suspects support. This is who they are proud to be bedfellows with. So proud they're still talking positively about a Reform candidate from 2022 who got hardly any votes. Don't believe them when they say they care about social justice. They don't, clearly.

As @coldwarcliff.bsky.social points out on X, for those opposed to active travel, no scheme is ever good enough, be it main roads or LTNs. It doesn't matter if they are theoretically campaigning 'for' buses, Disabled People, or ambulances, they always favour a status quo that only works for cars...

Barking Abbey U16 Boys broke the scoreboard! 109-22.
Emma & I are massively proud of our son for dropping 25, settling into new team following London Lions Academy closing and great to see team really beginning to hit their stride this season! #abbeynation
