At the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, local stewards teamed up with Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) to restore habitat just in time for salmon. Support from PSF through Salmon Conservation Stamp funds made this project possible: psf.ca/salmonstamp/

The Sq’éwqel are restoring vital spawning habitat for an endangered Chinook population in Maria Slough, near Agassiz, in partnership with DFO. Thanks to Salmon Conservation Stamp and donor funds, PSF was able to grant $112,384 to support this project. Learn more at psf.ca/salmonstamp/

More than 660,000 Fraser sockeye are now on the move! Among them, the endangered early Stuart sockeye are returning in unusually large numbers, racing 1,200 km upriver to spawn near Fort St. James.

Last year saw one of the highest endangered Chinook returns in a decade for the Sq’éwqel community near Agassiz.

That moment was made possible by years of restoration at Maria Slough, and the work continues this summer with support from PSF's Community Salmon Program.
