My contention is that the media have not done a good job informing people, if so many voters are uninformed. They have fallen short of their responsibility, in other words.

I disagree; I think the news media don't present information honestly out of a desire to promote their narrative. If the candidates had been presented accurately in an accessible fashion, the results would have been different. As it is, people had to go off "vibes" more than they ought to.
