This is a disaster folks. Abortion funding is drying up because donations to independent abortion funds are falling. We can and must do better to support women in need of assistance. Donate to the National Network of Abortion Funds here: abortionfunds.org.

Honest question: is it possible that anyone is dumber or more dishonest than President POS?
The President of the United States says that Ukraine and Zelensky started the war. bsky.app/profile/atru...
Trump has fully turned on Zelenskyy: "He's always looking to purchase missiles. Listen, when you start a war, you gotta know you can win a war. You don't start a war against somebody that's 20 times your size and then hope that people give you some missiles."
April 14, 2025 at 5:44 PM
Trump is perverted and crazy. Anyone who continues to serve in his administration or to enable it through legislation is too.
Remove him from office or live in infamy forevermore.
Trump is asked if he’s planning to ask Bukele to return Kilmar Abrego Garcia & Trump punts to Pam Bondi.

Bondi claims it’s “up to El Salvador if they want to return him – that’s not up to us. [SCOTUS] ruled that if El Salvador wants to return him, we would ‘facilitate’ it, meaning provide a plane.”
April 14, 2025 at 5:42 PM
There is no other way to understand this. Trump is corrupt and so are the billionaires who control American corporations and, because of Citizen's United, government, too.
We the people are the only ones who can stop this. Force Republicans out of Congress and off the Supreme Court.
Corporations who donated to Republicans were more likely to get tariff exemptions during Trump's first term.

Now, tech companies like Apple are getting major tariff carveouts.

Who donated $1M to Trump's inauguration? Apple CEO Tim Cook.

It's crony capitalism.

Yep. The reactionaries are in charge and many won't be satisfied until women can't vote and Jim Crow is restored.
The President has chosen to intentionally crash the U.S. economy and financial system by doing things which have been ridiculed in every intro macroeconomics class for the past 80+ years. Those with the power to stop him refuse to do so because they hate minorities.
April 9, 2025 at 2:25 PM
Who's going to investigate this? Not Pam Bondi, that's for sure.
Good morning.

Today is the 80th day that the U.S. President is running a backdoor bribery scheme in which any CEO or foreign oligarch can send him money secretly through his crypto coin scam in exchange for favors.

It's the biggest scandal in the history of the Presidency.

It's hard to wrap your head around how anyone could think this is good for the US.

This is what happens when the government operates lawlessly by ignoring due process. We are all at risk.
The Trump administration acknowledged Monday that it had grabbed a Maryland father with protected legal status and mistakenly deported him to El Salvador due to an “administrative error,” but said U.S. courts lack jurisdiction to order his return from the megaprison where he’s now locked up.

The Trump administration says that it mistakenly deported an immigrant with protected status but that courts are powerless to order his return.

Some hard truths that Dems & the people need to reckon with. Many Dems are living in the past. While we all want civil political discourse, many of us realize that MAGA does not. It's a death cult that is willing to destroy everything in order to get its way. Funny thing is the Rs know it, too.

If this premise is correct, then we are near a state of anarchy where no laws will apply. It's getting harder to believe that our political leaders are up to the job, so that leaves it to the people. Dangerous times, indeed.
The bottom line is that Trump must be removed from office now.
We're in a full-blown constitutional crisis, with Article I completely inoperative & Article III not clearly operative. Whatever one wants to call our current political regime, it's neither a democracy nor a republic at this point.
If the president can ignore court orders and illegally circumvent, Congress, there is no Constitution. It’s gone. There’s no enumerated right that the president can’t take from you, no law Congress can pass that is binding, and no court that can protect you from any of it. It’s the whole ballgame.

Working people, including immigrants, are not the problem. The problem is the billionaires who vacuum up the wealth created by working people. Guaranteeing a living wage and life sustaining services like healthcare and education will make the economy soar.
If you think you’re struggling because of undocumented immigrants “scamming the system” then you haven’t been paying attention to what the people who control the system are doing.
The 1% evade $163B in taxes per year.

Tesla paid $0 in federal income taxes from 2018 - 2022 & 2024.

Billionaires can write off the cost of their private jets and yachts.

While undocumented immigrants paid $96B in taxes in 2022.

The more you look into it, the crazier it gets.

Trump and DOGE at work. If there's one thing worse than putting an idiot in charge, it's putting an idiot and a geniass in charge.
So we could lose $200B in tourism, $100B in immigrants paying taxes, $100B in weapons manufacturing, $500B in lost tax revenue from firing IRS employees… is it sinking in yet?
International tourism is worth $200 billion every year to the US economy.

Sorry, *was.

Items 3,4 & 5 are each cause for impeachment.

This crap is real folks and it's gonna hurt bad. Iowa City and U of Iowa didn't deserve this. Too many Iowans have lost the thread recently and we all hope they can see that now.
Just in NIH grants, It looks like beautiful Iowa City, home of the U of Iowa, will lose $71m in funding. That's almost $1k per resident. And that's before all the other cuts to SSA, FDA, etc.

Anyone in Iowa City that can offer more insight?
