I am in downtown Los Angeles right now and it is completely surreal to hear that Trump is sending Marines here. We are listening to mariachi music. People have dogs. There are teenagers here. It is utterly and completely peaceful. Please tell your friends.

Great to connect with friends and comrades at the Ohio State University this week, but they are dealing with serious govt repression there. DEI and striking just made illegal, and there is now a post tenure review process that could be used to remove tenured faculty. Solidarity!!!!

Headed to Ohio State University to give a lecture next week. What a time to be visiting as leadership and politicians there are sharpening the attacks on DEI and professors. Looking forward to be in solidarity with the activists there.

Our “late” fascism is an ideology of crisis and decline. It enlists supporters, as Ruth Wilson Gilmore puts it, on the basis of “explicit domination set against the local reality of decreasing family wealth, fear of unemployment, threat of homelessness, and ... capitalism’s many toxicities.”
The Long Shadow of Racial Fascism - Boston Review
A debate is roiling about the aptness of comparing Trump to European fascists. But radical Black thinkers have long argued that racial slavery created its own unique form of American fascism.

He’s a Nazi. Drive him from public life.
Just in case anyone isn’t following: Elon did a Nazi salute twice and is now speaking at an AfD (neo-Nazi) rally in Germany.

If it salutes like a Nazi and campaigns for the Nazis, he’s probably a Nazi.

Donald Trump Is Weaker Than He Looks
Donald Trump’s administration is doing everything it can to project power and a sense of unstoppability in his first days as president. But the cracks are already starting to show.
