My new piece for @truthout.org: Zohran Mamdani’s victory opens political space we haven’t seen in decades.

But we can’t expect Mamdani to save us. Even the best politician can’t deliver the world we deserve—that can only be achieved by mass movements.

If Capital Strikes Against Mamdani, Organized Worker Power Can Strike Back
Let’s study how Wall Street sank Mamdani-style municipal plans back in 1975 — and get prepared for a similar fight.

My latest: “Real learning, as the renowned psychologist Lev Vygotsky showed, is a social process. It happens through dialogue, relationships, & shared meaning-making.

AI can’t do that.

It can’t sense when a student’s silence means confusion or when it means trauma.“

Regulating AI Isn’t Enough. Let’s Dismantle the Logic That Put It in Schools.
AI in schools isn’t progress — it’s a sign of how far we’ve strayed from the purpose of education.

Yesterday we lost Assata Shakur— a giant in the history of the Black freedom struggle and movements for socialism.

Standing in Oakland this summer at the Women of the Black Panther Party mural, I pointed to Assata Shakur’s words: “We have nothing to lose but our chains.”

Rest in power. ✊🏾🖤
