Reposting for World AIDS Day (which our horrific federal government is refusing to commemorate for the first time in 32 years).

As scientists, we have a duty to the communities we serve. The communities who make this work possible. In this moment, we must refuse to abandon*anyone*
I am *so* proud to have co-authored this piece with my brilliant colleagues @abigailmhatcher.bsky.social and @kldunkle.bsky.social. It was initially written over a month ago, but becomes more timely every day.

We lay out 5 principles:

Digging into the data of what's taking place with Black women unemployment and this graph is pretty damning.

You can see the EXACT month Black women's unemployment begins to splinter and that what hit us FIRST is now coming for all other women. This is #TheDoubleTax.

Schumer isn't afraid of Dem voters. People can yell *primary* all they want as the Federal government becomes more fascist over time. There is no organized movement against the Democratic party. There's the fascists and their enablers (the Democratic party). Perhaps this would be the final straw.
