Here’s a reflective mash-up of “White Cliffs of Dover” & “Over the Rainbow” we made about VE Day and where we’re at 80 years on. Dedicated to Great Grandad (DFC as an RAF pilot, 619 Squadron, Lancasters) - his favourite saying was "the price of freedom is eternal vigilance."

I wanted to do something to mark #WomensHistoryMonth, but wasn't sure what, until I remembered the women who have worked in my profession before me, to protect, champion & share collections. Here's Adelaide Lubbock and the first Curator Marie Bowen opening Bromley Museum, Orpington Priory in 1965.

1. Yesterday, a Fox was found dead in a garden in Orpington, London BR6. She had a ball bearing—likely fired from a catapult—embedded in her nose, and a fresh, fatal wound to her middle. It’s devastating to think that someone could find pleasure in harming a living being.
