I'm quite surprised and impressed that the local Democratic machine would let her jump straight into a state senator race. I think that would be quite unusual in New Jersey.

Although @uckema.com can surely DIY it, I dread to think what other have-a-go heroes would achieve. I have spent a lot of money correcting the DIY projects of the previous owner of our house!!!

Our PV panels only cover about ~90% of our annual usage as things stand.

I think I am about ready to switch, been eyeing it for years actually, but not gonna lie, the electricity price increases make me more nervous about it.

Yeah, slimming down the road is a win by itself. Now we need to work to make the bike lanes safe and useful!

One thing is sure: the heated warnings from the Sierra Club etc that gas pipelines are unsafe is a load of nonsense. We have had two natural gas pipelines in Princeton for decades and most people don't even know they are there. Just a very safe way to transport fuel.

US carbon dioxide emissions peaked in 2005 and have been falling steadily ever since, in large part because we have replaced burning of coal and fuel oil with natural gas.

I really don't know where I stand on that pipeline project. On one hand, I would love us to move to zero-carbon right away. On the other hand, a lot of people on Long Island and in New England are still burning fuel oil. Most of the decarbonization we have achieved in recent years is by natural gas.

I know some of the academics that work in that facility and I wouldn't trust them to operate a toaster.
If we got you in to run it though, then we're cooking!!! 👍

I don't think it's going away and I think it's really weighing on him and I have actually become kinda radicalized about it in the last few months.
