The wealthiest man in the world has fully purchased the federal government of the United States. This is one of the most extraordinary crises in the history of this country and you need to ask whether your elected representatives are acting like it.

We are where we are because of a vast right-wing media ecosystem funded by ideologues (plutocrats, theocrats, and the KGB) who have no profit incentive - only persuasion. Maybe pro-democracy countries should get in the game and fund some pro-democracy media.
But my serious and practical question is this:

HOW do we fight against the right-wing disinformation machine? We are in the streets protesting. We're at Tesla dealerships. We're screaming till we're hoarse. But the Dem politicians are SILENT COMPLICIT IDIOTS, and the media is ignoring us.

I’m sticking with the argument @profsaunders.bsky.social and I made in @foreignaffairs.com 8 years ago: good foreign policy is invisible. www.foreignaffairs.com/articles/uni...
Today was a lot of things. It wasn’t good foreign policy.
Good Foreign Policy Is Invisible
Successful foreign policy is largely invisible. It often means paying up front for benefits that are hard to see until you lose them.
