quick art tip for those who need it: stop putting so much value into your sketchbooks. meaning, don’t feel like every page has to have a “perfect” work or whatever. you’d be surprised how common this attitude is and it’s how people fall off from drawing regularly. it’s a sketchbook get fuckin’ messy

I really miss when you could go to public spaces and not hear someone flicking through short form videos out loud every few seconds
even spaces that used to do a good job of asking people to not be rude seem to have given up. if you ask nicely to use headphones they act like you killed their family

1) the classics are not a scam to make you read dead white men, in fact many celebrated authors are women/POC

Goddamn. Just watched Harris’ rally break out into a spontaneous “NOT GOING BACK!” chant followed by Beyoncé’s “Freedom”. Forgot how fun it used to feel to be excited and inspired back at the beginning of the Obama campaign in ‘08. Maybe had feared things were too cynical to get there again.

We can and should ignore a lot of noise this season, but we need to deal with this nonsense: “Kamala is a descendant of a white slave owner.” Yes. Many of us are descended from the enslaved and the slave owning. If you really can't figure out why, we have books for that.
