I had a ton of fun with my autumnal vintage and branded recipe posts, so I'm rolling into November with daily CASSEROLES from my archives of convenience cooking.

As the weather turns colder and Thanksgiving approaches, warm up with these bubbling pans of good intentions and questionable choices. 🥫🥘

welcome to bluesky. if the word "mapquest" means anything to you and/or you used it as a verb, you're in the right place

Had to unfollow an artist I enjoy, because even though they are vocally anti-AI in visual arts, apparently they're fine dropping a casual reference to personally using ChatGPT.

If you're against AI coming for your livelihood, you need to be against it coming for mine too. Solidarity or GTFO.

Guy in front of me at the post office just paid to mail his letter by scrounging through his pockets for every coin like he was Columbo filling up the Peugeot.

@doctorofthedead.bsky.social: What's that Michael Dudikoff movie where he's the villain? You know, where Susan Lucci hires a P.I. and wears a lot of turquoise?

Me, no hesitation, not looking up from my game: The Woman Who Sinned

I blame @rifftrax.com for this knowledge taking up brain space. 😂

Every time I read about another mass layoff of editorial folks, I want to reach out and commiserate. But I also feel my anxiety kick up another notch because I know that's even *more* talented, creative people I'll have to battle for the job scraps that remain. It's all so cruel and unnecessary.

"We get an hour back, so we may as well eat some more cheese," I said to my husband.

He instantly and excitedly replied, "It's the cheese hour!" and I think @doctorofthedead.bsky.social and I have a new Daylight Saving tradition.

I made the Peter Pumpkin Mousse from Amazing Magical Jell-O Desserts and... it's damn good.

I went with butterscotch pudding and ignored the seasoning instructions in favor of 1/2 tsp each of pumpkin pie spice and cinnamon.

I don't own dessert glasses, but Halloween pint glasses work just fine.

Yesterday I was rummaging around in my laundry room trying to find rope to anchor a Halloween decoration in the wind. Thought I saw rope through the mesh in a storage drawer, and opened it to find... the ENTIRE drawer filled with extension cords.
When you’re in your 40’s you are at your best at collecting extension cords

Came inside to make dinner and a kid took the ENTIRE BUCKET of candy off my porch instead of emptying the candy into their own bag.

I genuinely don't care if you take all of it (though it's a bummer for the other late trick-or-treaters), but stealing my big fun Halloween bucket is a real jerk move.

👩‍🍳📚 I've officially completed my daily vintage/branded recipe thread for October!

Read through, and feel free to let me know if there's any cookbook you'd like to see more from.

I'm thinking about doing a themed thread for November as well, perhaps all soups and stews? Or maybe casseroles?
To celebrate my favorite season, every day in October I'll post a random autumnal recipe from my collection of vintage and branded cookbooks.

🍎 October 1: More Joys of JELL-O (1993) brings us Harvest Pie. It's a throw-it-all-in sweet stuff extravaganza + apples and nuts in a graham cracker crust.
