For those who don't know, DBT stands for Dialectical Behavioural Therapy.

It's a therapy that was made by Marsha Linehan, originally to help individuals with BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder)...

Having to use Radical Acceptance for the fact I can't write much here in a post...I have so much to say 😅 and an so limited in these posts that it's putting me off posting here and keeping me on FB 😖

DBT is amazing & super helpful but also hard work, takes a lot of practice, & is a lot to learn, so it makes sense if things feel overwhelming at first.

Rushing to learn too many skills at once may lead to having less time to practice and really get to know them.

Normally the first step for me to accept something I don't agree with but can't change is realising the only way to stop myself from feeling worse, fighting the unchangeable reality, is Radically Accepting that I need to Radically Accept it to help me. (That's where the grumpy cat face comes in.)

Do you struggle to focus during mindfulness meditations?
I know I do, especially if I'm out of practice.

Today my mind was so busy when I meditated so I tried to work with it instead of against it, making the practice more *effective* for me.

I have been needing lots of my skills recently as things have been tough but all the hard work has definitely been paying off.

The main skills that have been coming up recently have been PLEASE,
Radical Acceptance,
Positive Self Talk,
STOP,
Opposite Action &
Mindfulness.

I was watching Resident Alien the other night and had to pause it to take a photo of this bit as it reminded me so much of TIPP skills 🤣 and how it can feel when I use ice to stop a crisis and get out of Emotional Mind. 😝

I think I might have to try and make a meme out of it.

I have finally made the jump over here after being on FB for so long.

I already don't like it 😅 I don't like change!
