i'd say it did. the public put a group of thieves, vandals and extremists in office last november and they promptly went about destroying everything that might work to limit their ability to loot, steal and inflicting pain on the people they hate
This whole NYT account about the weaponization of DOJ is beyond disturbing. Kinda feels like the US government fell in January.

Someone alert Alex Thompson and Jake Tapper!

ICE operations aren't legitimate. The agency needs to be disbanded and any of their personnel that broke laws need to be atrested, charged and locked up.
Even if you assume the legitimacy of ICE operations, the idea that a fucking truck-mounted machine gun is necessary to carry them out is insane.

This is about intimidation. This is them letting us know that the streets of the United States have been militarized.

Fuck off.

If you don't want to be compared to the Gestapo, one neat trick is to not engage in a campaign of terror around the country wherein you kidnap people off the streets to slave dungeons in accommodation of an autocratic fascist and his nationalist movement's desire for racial purity.

The crazy thing about humans is this:

We could provide food, water, shelter, healthcare, & education to everyone on earth.

The reason we don’t is because we’ve decided to put profits first.

That’s it.

The acquisition of bits of green paper over all else is a choice.

Greed is holding us back.

Cis allies loudly declaring support also helps push back on one of the main goals of the anti trans movement, convincing the world that hating trans people is Normal

Every random cis person going "well duh i'm chill with trans people who isn't" means that idea can't spread
not to invalidate my trans siblings but, personally, cis allies loudly declaring support for us right now does help keep despair at bay even if it changes nothing. I don’t care how you phrase it, how clumsy. Please be there for/with us, loudly. It fights the voices that scream everyone hates us.

Stop buying big ticket items, unless absolutely necessary.

This after Elon Musk and others poured millions into anti-transgender advertisements in the state.

The anti-trans panic failed in Wisconsin.

This is a major victory for LGBTQ+ people in the state.

Too many Democrats spent a good part of last year demonizing campus protesters, refusing to acknowledge Palestinians as humans, and painting people who want an end to Israel's genocidal actions as terrorists.

Trump is pouring on the gas, but Dems lit the match and threw in some logs.
The lawlessness, incompetence and brutality are accelerating as the Republic tips toward dictatorship.

Senate Democrats, under Schumer's leadership, are useless and essentially collaborators. Democratic governors need to get straight on what the plan is.
NEW—After a day of uncertainty on where agents took Tufts student Rumeysa Ozturk, she appears to be in a Louisiana facility.

1400+ miles from Somerville, Massachusetts, where she was taken.

A judge ordered to not take her out of state without 48 hour notice. She was detained last night.

To be absolutely clear, what ICE is doing is a crime. These arrests and deportations are broadly accepted as illegal, and the claim that they do not need to abide by the law is horse shit. We need to start petitioning our local PDs, posting anti ICE notices, and organizing to stop these arrests.
