Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.

The Minnesota shooter apparently used data broker websites to find the home addresses of the people he shot and murdered.
Congress has had years to do something about data brokers and they've sided with the tech lobby over and over again.
Their inaction is deadly.

A generation (at least) of obsessing over STEM skills instead of teaching people how to think has done a remarkable amount of damage to the world. Especially because people seem to think that having STEM skills makes you "smart" and "logical" even though it doesn't necessarily do either.
