If you're not actively reducing the risk of illness, maybe ask your organization, "why?" Are you comfortable hosting a celebratory event that requires people to self-segregate? Are you okay allowing illness that can cause physical and economic hardship to spread without any mitigation? /end

If you're doing things to reduce illness, tell people! Borrowing air purifiers from @calhrm.bsky.social ? Let people know! Does the venue have amazing ventilation? Make it public! Will windows be open? Reducing attendance numbers? Requiring masks? Providing rapid tests? Tell us! /3

Some people need to avoid illness because they can't risk losing their job & don't have access to paid sick days. Some people have underlying disabilities that increase risk for even worse negative outcomes. Some people can't rely on vaccination because of allergies or other medical conditions. /2
