Writers do you ever/still write by hand in a notebook? I'm always scrawling something...lists, appointments, ideas, frustrations, questions to myself. For me, it makes the intangible, tangible.

Just saw an ad promoting "notebooks for women" and became infuriated. But then I realized those must be some kick-ass notebooks. #writing #women

Sob Story. Don’t describe your character as empathetic. Show them sitting in the park to talk to a homeless person, or crying over a baby, or sending an anonymous check to a friend in hard times. Fict. or NFict. Doesn't matter. I want to see what your people do when they feel. #writing #author

Don't feel like writing. That's okay. Happens to all of us one time or another. Just remember: do it anyhow. #writing

You can learn to write. But it's not enough. Skill is not enough to help you with rejection, imposter syndrome, procrastination. Skill is not enough get you to the end. That requires more. That "more" is mindset. It's what I write about, what I'm working on. #writing #authors

Good reminder for me today that the only way I can stand for others is to first take care of myself. To be healthy, present, responsive, resilient. Then I have more energy to stand for what I believe and maybe can even model the possibilities that we all deserve, the things worth working for.

We have a great example of how NOT to be a strong leader in the world. While there are regular demonstrations of fear, egocentricity, small-mindedness, intolerance, and vengefulness we can decide to lead with compassion collaboration, tolerance, empathy.

Ever changed significant aspects of a character halfway through the book? Toying with the idea...of course it will change everything else. But interesting to think about. #writing

Did you write through the holidays or take time to regroup and reboot? I did a little bit of both, but instead of running through multiple projects, I focused on one. Just one. That alone was refreshing. #amwriting #author #writing

The first goal shouldn't be to become a bestselling writer, quit your day job, or get a two-book deal. The first goal must be to finish. We have nothing if we don't finish the writing. #WritingCommunity #writing
