Media is art. And art is subjective. Mostly always.

An artist could create a piece of art that is meaningful to them for one reason and you could look at it out of context and have it mean something completely different.

One thing before tomorrow:

Use your local libraries.

Get your card.

Borrow books, manga, films, audios, ebooks.

Recommend titles for purchase (usually online).

Attend promoted activities.

Fill out those "How are we doing?" questionnaires.

Tell your kids that libraries are good.

They are.

This is a great example of RedNote’s environment. A Scottish guy posted a video of his highland cows. In the comments a Chinese man posted pictures he drew of the cows perspective without wind, facing the wind and in the crosswinds 😆🤣 this is my happy place.

Something being “difficult to read” isn’t a bad thing. Careful study, rereading, being challenged is key to reading — and to life. If you only want to “easy” art, maybe you don’t enjoy art at all so much as having your outlook supported and unchallenged.

People are always like, "This is a core memory" while watching a sunset with friends or whatever. But all my core memories are, like, the time I was invited to visit the New York Knicks' locker room after the game and though the sandwich buffet was for me when it fact it was for the New York Knicks.

too many people see video games as products and not as culture

everyone would appreciate games more if they followed who is creating them instead of only following IPs

real life “lore” is infinitely more interesting than fictional lore and it also helps you better understand the fictional lore too

Wife: So you went to the party all by yourself?
Me: Yes
Wife: And you stayed three whole hours?
Me: Yes
Wife: Even though I wasn’t there to make you stay?
Me: Yes
Wife: And now you don’t want to talk to other people until?

I love how Rook is like "you're hot when you do corpse magic. You picking up what I'm putting down?" and Emmerich is like "now is not really the time but I absolutely fucking am". My sweet goth babies.

15 years ago, I bought an Xbox so I could play Dragon Age: Origins. I had never played an RPG before and my (now) boyfriend had to teach me how to play.

Now, I'm on my second playthrough of Veilguard and I love it so so much. I understand it's not for everyone. But I'm having an awesome time.
