You're awesome!
On a day when a giant multinational union-busting corporation is having a sale I would just like to praise some awesome indie bookstores, starting with copperdogbooks.com where I will be next week (July 23) with Max Gladstone.

And poisonedpen.com in Arizona has been awesome for decades

Prime Day, Schmime Day. Hey, listen, indie bookstores are out there being awesome every day. And they tend to ship directly to you, even if you're not local to the store. They're where the books live! And booksellers are book wizards! Bonafide bibliomancers fast with the recommendations.

Also delighted but not stunned. Congrats!
I'm delighted and stunned that Esquire Magazine has included The Calculating Stars on their list of the 75 Best Sci-Fi Books of All Time.

It's a good list, too! It's got a mix of books that I know and love and ones that are new to me.

No question it is harder and harder out there for a debut novelist. And for the novelist who has to reinvent themselves with every book.
Why Are Debut Novels Failing to Launch?
