Greg Bovino has tried to justify use of force in Chicago and LA by citing assaults against federal agents.

But new data shows that over the last 4 fiscal years, Border Patrol agents in Bovino's sector have used force far more often than they’ve faced assault: https://bit.ly/4hVIh9B

We've long warned about the dangers of facial recognition technology, and this is the embodiment of those warnings. Using this app on the street to determine people's citizenship is invasive and unconstitutional, and it must stop.
Congress Pushes DHS for Details on ICE's New Facial Recognition App
404 Media first revealed ICE's new app, called Mobile Fortify, in June. Now members of a congressional committee are pressing DHS for more information, including ICE's legal basis for using the app inside the U.S.

“If on a bipartisan basis, Congress would come together... and say, ‘The power of the purse is ours and here’s what that means,’ I think that would go a long way toward preventing the White House from continuing to give Congress a runaround when it comes to appropriated funding."
One agency can push back on Trump -- but probably not for long
President Donald Trump has used the federal shutdown to seize control of spending from Congress and mold much of the government to his liking. Now the lone agency with the power to push back on those moves may be running out of time to try it.
