The administration continues to abuse its power.
It is once again using a loophole to intervene in U.S. attorney vacancies- this time, firing an attorney chosen by judges in New York.

This is unacceptable, and Congress needs to act.
White House fires U.S. attorney in N.Y. hours after judges appointed him
Donald T. Kinsella was chosen by judges to lead the federal prosecutors’ office in Albany, then fired hours later via an email from the White House.

In a stunning abuse of power, the administration tried to punish lawmakers for exercising their First Amendment rights. So we are reassured that a grand jury saw straight through this authoritarian scheme and refused to indict these members of Congress. https://bit.ly/46EFBZl

Inspectors general need independence to do their jobs.

Threatening to shut down their investigations is a serious attack on the accountability you deserve from your government.

We hope senators ask Sec. Noem about this when she testifies next month.
DHS warned its independent watchdog that Noem can kill its investigations, senator says
Democratic Sen. Tammy Duckworth said she fears "repeated tacit threats" could be weakening the DHS inspector general's independence.
