This morning, I was hit in the face by a baton.

I’m going to have a pretty gnarly bruise but we need to remember why this is happening: Trump and ICE are rounding up our neighbors, treating them as subhuman, and shipping them off to labor camps in foreign countries. It has to end.

Q: Politico reported on a group chat of young Republicans. Does this just reflect some bad apples?

HOCHUL: Some bad apples? These are the future of the GOP. This is so vile it's hard to find the words to put into context ... there's gotta be consequences ... this bullshit has to stop.

Definitely pinned to the inspo board of my mind for her easy approach to style, femininity and humor. I really cannot quantify the influence but Diane Keaton someone that brought genuine humanity to her work. Icon gets thrown around a lot—not here. I am saddened by this loss.

It’s a core First Amendment principle. This is utterly lawless behavior, for which there will be no (short-term) consequences.

Rightly confident in his impunity.

Quashing a federal subpoena this completely is pretty rare. Doing it with language this blunt is, at least in my experience, essentially unheard of.

The number of children injured or killed by cars while walking or riding a bike has fallen steadily since the 1970s, but CDC researcher note that this decline is not because streets are safer, but because fewer kids are out and about in the first place.
Kids need freedom. Dangerous roads make it hard to grant it.
Bigger cars, distracted drivers and worried parents mean fewer kids are roaming freely.
