Yea, Newport! Way to holler back at the wolves. No ICE facility on our beautiful Oregon coast. No way. Send their life-saving helicopter back. Please know that we will drive over the coast range to spend money in Newport at local establishments over the holidays. Long live the patriots of Newport!

The Supreme Court allows Trump to pause full benefits for hungry Americans. Despicable! They sent it back to the 1st circuit courts. Oregon is feeding people. Pay attention, people! This is the first time in history that an administration is fighting to take food away from poor people.

Oregon found the funding to get SNAP benefits to my single mom daughter and her child. We, seniors on a fixed income, would have ensured that she and our grandson would not go hungry. But it’s better that we don’t need to do that. We have to stay healthy as long as possible to support her. Oregon!

The lesson of history is that tyrants cannot be appeased.

Appeasement only feeds their insatiable hunger for power.

Tyrants prey on people who feel unsafe and vulnerable.

But without mass submission, a tyrant is powerless.

Remember this.

@govpritzker.illinois.gov okay! Time for shock and awe. 2026 is next.

@governor.ca.gov you took steps. Quickly. Expertly. Thank you. You gave we the people a mission and we won. Thank you.

THE TIMES THEY ARE A CHANGING. Dylan wrote this song in 1963, as a warning to Americans to accept progressive changes to the traditional social order, an acknowledgement of civil rights and a democratic republic that embraces and meets the needs of all people. “The winners now will later be last.”

@bibliowingate.bsky.social Alex, your profile intro is so interesting—book history. I’m reading a historical novel by Geraldine Brooks right now called The Book People. Fascinated by the idea of manuscripts that are thousands of years old. Thought of you.

@jamestalarico.bsky.social I’m a retired educator. I would value an opportunity to talk with you about how the dismantling of fed support to implement IDEA could be a catalyst for improvement in systems of support. I believe we need visionary leadership to evolve; I believe that leader may be you.

Our male Scottish Terrier has no concept of modesty. He falls asleep on his back with four legs in the air all the time. I just wonder how it is that his body doesn’t roll over one way or the other. 🥴 I’d post a pic but it might be just over the line suggestive to a lady dog.

You can watch Jimmy Kimmel Live right now on YouTube.

@jimacosta.bsky.social please let us know if the Netflix landing for Colbert can accommodate others like Kimmel. Is Netflix safe from the FCC and our the current administration?

@disneyanimation.tumblr.com.web.brid.gy I’m writing to ask why you gave away your right to free speech by allowing ABC to suspend jimmy Kimmel’s show. My subscriptions to streaming that is affiliated with ABC have been canceled.

@jimmykimmel.com Now is no time to step back. You have means. Sue them. You’ll win. I have no means. A small voice. Do it for me. My generation got the vote for 18y olds drafted as soldiers. For women to have bank accounts without a man’s co-signature and disabled kids to go to school. Do it for us.

@nytimes.com your organization should not let Trump withdraw his baseless lawsuit. Make him go to trial and pay damages to the Times. Keep his ridiculousness in the news. Expose his frivolous lawsuits as nothing but distractions and cheap political hits.

I subscribed to @nytimes.com when I read their response to Trump’s baseless lawsuit. I will encourage everyone I know to do the same. We must preserve and celebrate the free press. I’m frugal but I’ll give up something else to add the New York Times to my list of critical expenditures.
