My quilt “Breaking Rules” was just juried into a regional SAQA traveling exhibition. My artist statement: Picasso said… break the rules. There’s an old wooden ruler from a Wyoming creamery attached to the quilt. “Make it a rule to drink a quart of milk every day. How do you measure up?”

If you look up Wandering Wife (used to be called Gypsy Wife) by Jen Kingwell you can see images of the whole thing, but I’m just getting started so here is section one of ten sections that all get joined into one top.

I hand pieced one but I like the better durability of machine piecing. It’s the FEEL of hand quilting that just lights my jets. Here’s the latest.

I’m too chaotic to create a quilt using a pattern! Directions—Ugg! Start just to the right of the center of a design wall. Make some little blocks and strips. Build out. Yeeeee… (Or use a pattern that says you and be you.) either way, yea for making quilts!

Here’s my super simple throw that became magically comfy when I hand quilted it. I could feel it taking on character as I got closer and closer to completing the quilting. It has an Italian linen backing that came on a roll from an upholstery shop. Amazingly soft and substantial weight.

Luscious! Hey, I have 8 hexi concentric blocks finished in a variety of solid combinations. Any ideas for assembly that is NOT traditional? I’d love a funky colorful throw with modern vibes.
