I keep seeing ppl shocked at how protesters are being treated. (In 2025!) “They’ll surely pay for harming that 80 year old. Wait until this is over in 3 years.”

Republicans believe they have the unilateral right to rule now and any procedure and process is just red tape designed by dems to prevent their rightful rule.
last night was a bleak one for TX legislature history. dan patrick literally denied senate democrats the ability to filibuster redistricting, even though rules allow it. roland gutierrez asked what precedent there was for this. patrick didn't even bother to answer. that's how the map passed.
