The prevalence of chatty coms in games, despite even the well liked ones getting a lot of backlash is very strange. Especially looking at Metroid and saying, this will be Prime 4's big change.
I wonder if it is a surprise when these characters are poorly received, or the team disliked them too.

Feel like I see more positivity around G-Reco these days
It'll stay a Tominohead show rather than a general Gundam fan favourite. But there's more celebration of its good parts, than tempering expectations. Cause the fast pace, characters speaking their mind and multi-fraction conflict is fantastic

Bad people can make good art.
When a game that people liked turns out to have been made by someone shitty, it doesn't instantly become bad. You don't have to go full Sour Grapes on it. Two things can be true at once.

I'm watching a vid on Silksong and they're saying Dark Souls 1 had a 'bad' opening section (firelink) because, while there are multiple paths, there's only one you can fully pursue. Thus the others are 'fake' and it's a 'guess' as to whether you have a 'good' or 'awful' time...

Weird how Frankenstein adaptations always focus on anti-science and vague religion allusion. They'll maybe get the family drama, fatherhood, and disrespect of nature is mixed in with the anti-science stuff. But the most common adaptation elements are arguably antithetical to the source.

Kagurabachi isn't backing down from the villains being overt genocidal Japanese nationalist. That can easily go wrong when their backgrounds/reasonings get explored.
But if it sticks the landing, Yura as a modern fascist and Soga an old racist could lead to a phenomenal takedown of both ideologies.

I think taking this moment as wholly positive or negative kind of misses how the series has handled characters. Asa and Denji make flawed choices. The question is just like those who harmed them, how much more selfishly can they live without turning into abusers? Is such a balance even possible?
