It's kinda cool that Gary Larson is doing new cartoons because he picked up a digital tablet, taught himself how to use it, and it made him love drawing again.

Great thread
I’ve been rewatching the Coen Bros filmography this month and while drawing a Barton Fink illustration, it struck me how much their films feel like Far Side cartoons: funny, strange, clever, yet frequently inscrutable. Anyway here’s a thread!

This and the Jezebel curse post...🔮
We haven't had an Andrew Breitbart/Antonin Scalia level right wing death in a minute and I feel like we're overdue.

This account is cool but this one in particular I'm saving to use in the future

Intrigued by the fact of this being held in Ventura county. It's a good offer. Might take them up on it.

What does "cracked" mean in this context? I clicked the link in the article and tried Googling.

I found a podcast called The Sin Syndicate via a repost from @artofcoop.bsky.social. It's about 60s and 70s sexploitation from before the rise of hardcore. I've always wanted to know more about the nudie-cuties and "roughies" and found it hard to find much about them so it's been interesting!

I keep thinking this is about the Charles Band-produced 1991 classic Dollman starring silver fox Tim Thomerson but it's a video game thing
I have changed my mind about Dollman. I love Dollman. He’s like if Jigsaw was your buddy.

I've always seen them as two distinct volumes but I'm seeing The Whole Bloody Affair on Friday at the Vista and I'm excited to see it in one piece!
i have a lot of affection for KILL BILL and one thing i want more than anything is just a big remaster that presents both volumes as a single feature.

Fun fact: in the first 30 episodes of this guy's movie podcast, they had 27 male guests and 4 women.

I just watched it today too!!! Last time I saw it was a big retro screening at the El Capitan and my niece was only in 1st grade. She's a teenager now! Anyway I rated it 4.5 stars on Letterboxd at that point, lol. Perhaps a little nostalgic grade inflation
Watching A Goofy Movie. This is more horny than I remembered in ways that I’m sure were foundational to every furry I’ve ever met.

Simi Valley shoutout! My own favorite "cool building scifi movies love to use" is the water treatment plant in the Valley that they built a Japanese garden around to show off the use of recycled water.

It’s so funny how, of all the great prescient dystopian scifi films of the ‘70s, the one that hit closest to the mark is the tagline to ZARDOZ.
