Remember when Mitt Romney was a laughing stock because of “binders full of women”?

Many people remember the farce that was “freedom fries” but we don’t seem to talk about the origin of that foolishness as much. French pm Jacques Chirac opposed the war vocally, so supporters of the war started disavowing French things including the incorrectly named fries. We need a Chirac now

Where is our Jacques Chirac?

Lost amidst all this rambling is the more important point -- Trump is granting Rolls-Royce an exception on a 25% automotive tariff. There is a good argument to be made that _only_ products like Rolls-Royce should be subject to extra taxes
Trump: "There will be a time where we're just gonna make the deal. In other words, we don't need the country involvement, because we're already had it. And we'll say, this particular country, which had big surpluses, we had therefore deficits, that this particular country is gonna pay a 25% tariff"

There is an alternate universe somewhere, where Jack Dorsey found his Sheryl Sandberg, Vine took off and got huge, Periscope survived, and Twitter's ad business improved. In this version Twitter is still alive and something like a $250bn company.

What AI Told Me About The Feedback I Give - pnewman.org
Over the last year or so, I've read and given feedback on about 150 resumes. The vast majority of the resumes I've looked at are from people in tech, or want to be in tech, and most are from software ...

If I was an SNL writer, I’d write a version of the Trump, Vance, and Musk characters that portray them as people with values more like Bernie Sanders or AOC. Caring servant leaders who want to account for historical wrongs, invest in alternative energy, and protect the environment.
