"AI is inevitable" is doomer fuel for the same reason that "it's too late to even mitigate climate change" is. It's a bluff whose goal is to demoralize workers who would so much as attempt to resist, let alone fight back.

The short-run effects and immediate harm are what make the bluff believable

100% disagree. The "AI is here to stay" line is being spread by managers who want to force compliance and being repeated by idiots who think they can get ahead by being early adopters. I say this as a manager who uses ai almost daily. I would NEVER replace people by this overgrown alexa.

And consumers hate it. People are literally less willing to buy a product if it mentions AI.

If actors want a tool to fight against AI Dubbing on Amazon's platform, we have to do the actual work.

SAG-AFTRA can't step in and fight for us.

We ARE the union.

If actors want a union Amazon Dubbing Agreement, we have to, at bare minimum, stop working for them non-union.

The YouTube feed telling you AI is going to take over is being pushed by AI companies and companies invested in AI to make you think AI is inevitable and you better invest now so that when the bubble does pop *you're* holding the bag

It has only been sustained by investors pumping money in the hopes that one day GenAI would be profitable. Lately AI has been the more "sucessful" it is, the less money it makes because keeping it on takes so, so much money.

AI is literally not free, hence why it requires a massive economic bubble that will soon burst and tank the entire US economy to sustain it

Guess we reached this point from "AI" companies doing "Fake it till you make it"

I don't think the AI bubble can go on much longer, and as much as corps are trying to whip up the next big data demand with quantum cryptography scares, I don't think that's going to materialize in nearly the same quantity, leading to a massive reduction in chip demand, allowing RAM prices to calm.
