I don't know, I'm just here because twitter sucks now.
The maple part is disgusting to think about, but regardless I was quite surprised to find that you can, in fact, sort of buy butter tarts in the USA.

They're made in Canada, too, as are a lot of things from Trader Joe's we can't buy in Canada, of course.

Absolutely braindead. There are so many of them who have be strung along literally for years and they still don't get it. Even after, like this one, losing her home and getting arrested.

Here is what she posted.

Also, love the tradition of "our families don't invite us to Christmas anymore, so we have decided it must be bullshit anyhow, we'd rather listen to the cult babble all day online instead"...

Was just reminded that I have this banger saved.

Foolishly there wasn't. It was a Caesar salad pizza, it did exactly what it said on the packet, and it was unaccountably good.

It was on a section on the pizza menu under Classics called Abominations. share.google/xRMB6EMoLACm...

This should describe the fate of Charlie Kirk as well, though hopefully there won't be the replicas.

It's been a wild ride for the last month in Australia and I can't wait to come back. It may be permanent next time.

Also, Australian winter is an amazing time to visit. More affordable (my hotels have been incredible and inexpensive) and still great weather for with only one single day excepted.

Visiting the Adelaide Central Market, which has a place with a paella lunch deal. Sold.

This picture turned out better than I hoped it would, the Southern Cross above a gum tree, after dinner under the stars at the Alice Springs Telegraph Station.

I took the windfall from American Airlines making getting to Australia a lot of Type 2 Fun, and spent it on an air tour out to Uluru and King's Canyon. Did get airsick on the way back though, lamentably. But I survived. Bonus look at Pine Gap.

Early morning al fresco breakfast before we set off for Adelaide.

First spotting of kangaroos at Lavarack Barracks. Amazed no one yelled at them to get off the grass.

Finally the bags reached us in Townsville last night. So this morning I feel much more settled, but we change hotels today, which I'll explain next, how we got fucked over by Expedia. But I'll take it. I'll miss the view from the balcony though, while I have a quick coffee.

Here's the thread for you.

It's green smoke from a smoke grenade.

Yes. Creighton also echoes what I said about civil defence.

The source is the service paper by Maj Creighton you linked. These all make sense to me as reasons people join and stay, and why they leave too. Retention is a massive problem and as the paper highlights, losing things like CAFSAC have negatively impacted retention. So did loosening dress regs.

You know, I saw this at the beginning of the pandemic. And maybe it's the vibe we all need right now.
