I can't help but think of all the times citizens have reported threats, online stalking, etc etc to the police only to be told there's nothing that can be done until something happens.

It feels like the "serious" media is straight up ignoring the public reaction to the UHC CEO murder. The NYT hasn't even done a "what it says about health care in America" op-ed piece. The fact that the entire country is celebrating a murder IS the story, and they're entirely missing it.

i know a lot of people are like "live for spite!!!" and i 100% support that if that's what keeps you going but if it doesn't work for you you can live for a variety of reasons, including "read book that isn't out yet", "love", "step on a crunchy leaf", "look at the river", "pat a creature" etc
