all +dmg relics are going to be reworked in that fashion. The focussing spectacles for Animae, for instance, now provide a one time x2 damage for the first Animae spell cast, as it's a very "one shot, multiple kills" type Arcane, very reliant on position

I think it's an expansion of the spirit of the school! Aether nudges towards damage avoidance, dodging, even sparing the enemies to get extra cash. I'd rather have the artefacts provide more complex effects that build towards the arcane's "paradigm", now that +dmg-type effects are given to stamps!

j'étais l'autre jour tombé sur la traduction d'Idéfix ("Dogmatix"), que je trouve maline et parfaite

to be fair, it's always the healthy option to assume the worse every day in every situation

There's also a strong element of "oops i just painted myself into a corner" that forces you to use your precious, stockpiled stamps, and I think that's good, given how unforgiving the game can be...

Regarding stamp stockpiling: I tend to be a hoarder in games but strangely, the incentive to use them seems to be strong enough. The more you use stamps, the more you find stamps. It might need some tweaking but it's a bit of a happy design accident so far!

Yeah! I'm actually thinking about this and may be adding a special loot to biome guardians. It would be a powerful special class of stamp that can only be applied to grimoires.

I think that should ensure the first dozen or so of floors are relatively straightforward and rely more on scrolls than stamps!

Oh definitely! It has a built-in "staggered" implementation:
- You can only find stamps when destroying an enemy ;
- The stamp level (and the complexity of its effect) depends on said enemy ;
- You can only apply one or two stamps max. on low level scrolls.

it's so fun! something about it really spoke to me, but i'd be at a loss to explain how it differs from other coding experiences (on account of me having none)

I started learning Godot about one and a half year ago with very little coding experience, so this is very cool to me 🥰

thank you so much!
