OMG he's a toddler.
trump believes he is the boss of america and that it is our duty as his subjects to show him endless respect and deference. anything less than groveling is to be punished by the state.
Trump says he will withhold federal tax dollars to Maine colleges unless the Gov of Maine personally apologizes to him.

You know what is making me even angrier than the mistreatment of people by ICE? The fact that when it happens to white women is when my feed blows up about it. It's equally terrible when it happens to brown men, my doods, and you're showing your implicit bias by what you protest.

This is shocking because the GOP always holds fast to their principles, whether they are expedient or not. Well known fact about them. Srsly. No. For real. Facts.
Nobody could have predicted this:

The bad news is that some assholes think, "Everyone is welcome" is somehow controversial and offensive. Let's make them explain that in excruciating detail, please.

Mea Culpa Maxima:

I don't know where I did this, but somebody eferenced to Dog The Bounty Hunter. I didn't know he was real. I thought it was a cute joke name the OP made up. I responded with a joke that in context of finding out the dude is a real life racist probably was not funny. I'm sorry.

This is precisey what keeps me up at night. I don't know if we have anyone in power to depend on.
It's like how on paper the US should have been resilient to covid. But those tasked with helping facilitate public health at the highest levels (i.e. not public health officials) simply wouldn't do it .
On paper, American democracy should be resilient to the Trumpist assault. Not because of some innate exceptionalism, but because of established institutions and significant civil society resources.

But if those tasked with defending democratic self-government simply won’t do it, none of it matters.

Nope.

HOODED ICE agents. We know who else has traditionally worn hoods and illegally kidnapped people, don't we?

Hell. No.
SCOOP: Hooded ICE agents snatched Indian-born Georgetown postdoc Badar Suri from Rosslyn street Monday, per court filing. Like Khalil, linked to pro-Palestinian views & Rubio 'foreign policy' power, lawyer says. Then whisked to Louisiana. w/ @kyledcheney www.politico.com/news/2025/03...

I think all of us who have been screaming into the void about what the GOP has been working toward since Reagan should brand ourselves as #TeamCassandra. It doesn't make the outcome any better, but at least we have a nice classical reference to cling to.

"Is coming into focus"???? Where have these people been? It's been clear for quite some time now. JFC.
Taken together, experts say, the Trump administration's moves threaten to undermine the single most important plank in our democratic system: free and fair elections.

This is appalling, but let's be clear... the US should not be sending ANYONE to a foreign prison, gang member or no. This is so far over the line that the light from the line will not reach us for another 500 years.

They already have the whole gorram pie, but that's just not enough. Fuck these guys. For real.
for the trump administration even this few black people is a few too many
88% (!) of major U.S law firm partners are white and nearly 75% are men. And more than 50% of firms report having *zero* Black partners. These numbers are even worse when you look at equity partners.

This action by the EEOC is nothing short of disgusting.
