Local Nature Recovery Strategy consultation open until 15th Oct
Check how your land is shown in the new Nature Recovery Strategy — and tell us if we’ve got it right. It’s an opportunity map, mapping what could be there rather than what is there right now. Review the map at shropshire.gov.uk/lnrs

Took the Oxon park and ride today, with James Owen, Shropshire Council officers, and reporters to today's Cabinet meeting. This was to mark the new increased frequency of park and ride buses 🚌 in Shrewsbury.
£2 for a return with buses every 12 minutes

Enjoyable day at West Felton Carnival talking to residents. Started the day manning one of the road closure positions again, before manning the parish council stand on the playing field. Well done to the carnival committee and volunteers for pulling off another great carnival

Another busy day of inductions at Shropshire Council, more casework and correspondence with officers

Another 22k steps in the bag today ahead of tomorrow's #Shropshire Council elections. Thank you for all the kind words and support during my election campaign - the 3rd time standing to represent the good people of Whittington Division.

I missed by 34 votes last time.

Don't forget ID

Thank you

Pleased to be back on delivered milk with Edwards & Sons after Hartshorns Milk stopped delivering. If we hadn't, it would have been a sad day & end of an era. Hartshorns took over local milk delivery around West Felton when Sandra's parents stopped delivering

Spent some more time today, talking to residents in West Felton about the election for Shropshire Council on the 1st of May.

A dice day out on the campaign trail delivering in Park Hall, Whittington Division for the #Shropshire Council elections on May 1st

Two images to tell you all you need to know ahead of the local elections in Shropshire on May 1st. Shropshire Conservatives have been running Shropshire Council into the ground since its birth. Wasting millions on IP&E, £51m on buying shopping centres without valuation, & millions on consultants

Almost a full set - just one cat missing who is now the eldest but was never great at socialising with the other dogs and cats. The dogs had heard their mom's car driving down the lane

A mizzly end to the day as it started this morning. Finishing off the day in Queens Head after spending the day talking to residents and delivering leaflets

Some councils do run it successfully. Sadly, we are talking about Shropshire Council, which doesn't have a great track record, but this was trojan horse & didn't have much to do with creating more efficient service. Drop in tonnage disposed of, drop in recycling & big increase in fly tipping.

Another chilly day delivering leaflets and talking to residents, wrapped up in Philadelphia Eagles gear

But my main job of the day is preparing the final resting place for 12 year old Meesha, who suffered a stroke and is now running in heavenly fields

Quite pleased & relieved to see blood sugar down to Normal level after last September's type ii #diabetes diagnosis. Combined with losing 9kg, low-carb diet, which was tough over Christmas, seems to have had +ve impact. Should see in 3 months what trend & how #diet changes shape up #freshwell

What an awesome game. Onwards to the Super Bowl. I started following the Philadelphia #Eagles in 1985. Waited decades for them to win a Super Bowl, but now we return to the show with a beast of a team and a great chance to win again. Fly Eagles Fly

Some delivery by Station Road in Whittington today. Definitely colder feel without yesterday's sunshine 🌞

Nice afternoon in the crisp sunny weather doing some more deliveries in West Felton. Hopefully, the snow is further North

Wishing everyone a safe and happy Christmas. Christmas can be a difficult time for many, particularly after a bereavement. Here's to a prosperous new year for everybody.

The new system will lead to more fly tipping and less waste being handled properly. The only certainty is that usage going down will give the Conservatives an excuse to close recycling centres. They previously dropped recycling banks. Their actions will mean more landfill and less recycling.

I had never experienced queues like the Conservative-run #Shropshire Council claim the new booking system is designed to solve. If anything, any queues would be moved off site by the new system.
November 27, 2024 at 9:11 PM
Popped out to have a look at the waste transfer station in Oswestry to see for myself how the booking system is working. Is the sun setting on the recycling centre?

Got some steps in this morning in the snow and did a bit of resident's survey delivery while I was at it, in Queens Head and West Felton. #libdems #snow #shropshire.

The big thaw is now on, but the snow looked fab when it was fresh this morning
