she/her
Indeed.

One of my early memories was her resentfully ironing his shirts and telling me (age 4), "I want a divorce".

When I was 7, she got as far as starting to pack a suitcase.

When I was in my 30s, she accepted a job offer in Oregon... then chickened out and didn't go. 😒

People of their time.🫤

I’m now on that downhill slope to Christmas - I got the mincemeat put up over a week ago, and today it was time for the puddings. 🎄

The big one on. the right front burner is gluten-free and vegetarian. The smaller ones are aggressively non-vegetarian. They are supposed to be made with suet, but-

Yeah.

Either we’ll still be using money and banks after this, or it won’t matter!
😅

I hadn’t heard this particular tidbit before. 😒

Par for the course for Musk, I guess. 😑

Very glad they enjoyed it!

Living up to its slogan: “The Family Board Game of Cold-Blooded Murder”.😁

The guinea pigs approve of the doll-sized vegetables.

In honor of the day, I decided to check what my deck planters have managed.

Behold, Earth’s smallest carrots and beets.

None of them have gone to seed, so I guess I’ll leave the rest, and see if they ever reach maturity. 😅

I swear, I planted back in the Spring!

Guinea pigs will enjoy a snack.😆

This reminds me of me, but with creative projects. I am a dilettante, constantly dabbling just a bit at everything - gaining a lot of mile-wide, inch-deep experience.

It takes a lot for me to finish things. 😏

I’d like to take the blogger’s “builder brain” excuse, but I feel more like this Goop:

That was my immediate thought. 🤔

But, apparently, use it she does. 😒

Do a search, then you should see options like “Images” and “Map”. Off to the right somewhere should be “Web”. It may be all the way over, under an option saying “More”, depending on your screen size.

On desktop, it’s possible to set the “web” tab as your default search:

They were considering "an industry person". Someone they'd have to relocate from the Midwest.

Had I done Sales? No. But I had a background in accounting and experience being a "spokesmodel" (yup), so I figured I could manage it. Plus - as I told them - I was a temp. We could do a test-run.

I was a guest for being a model. I showed Peter my portfolio, and he was impressed. 😏 (And yes, there were "art nudes" in there, and yes, years later he told that story to a client at a business lunch 🙄)

Wizards at that time was a struggling collective, with lots of non-employees helping out.

I went over and peeked into ex-Twitter, to see what it was saying about my account there.

You can’t see your own “About This Account”, I guess?

But I accidentally asked Grok who I was, and got this, which… well, not wrong? 😏

There’s a plaque on the Burke-Gilman, memorializing the 2008 murder of 7 tall trees by injection of poison.

The houses up the hill fell under suspicion. 🤔

I was involved in a Trail reforestation project, and we deliberately put in stuff like Douglas Fir. And legal penalty signs. 😏

Chiming in that - like the majority of Seattleites, including me - he ain’t from around here! 😏

He and Mackenzie set up camp here in 1994, having never lived here, based on “it sounds like a good place to start a tech-based business”.

She went “vaguely-plausible inflated lips”, though, not whatever you’d call this:
😳

She does seem to have developed a (mild) case of “Mar a Lago face”. 😒

Her nose, particularly, is not what it was.

But she (wisely) hasn’t gone full inflatable lips.

Last year, I lucked into a Lakrids advent calendar. Highly recommended for anyone who loves licorice. I made it last through February.

This year, I plumped for one full of maple-sugar candies (the soft, granular ones 🥰).

We've all been exposed to many AI horrors, but sometimes they can still jump-scare me.

I went to look up some information about different types of gelatin for cooking (beef, pork, fish, vegan), and an otherwise unremarkable website confronted me with this:
