Oh, and that responsibility for ensuring children and young people are safe - and have full access to the benefits of active travel - should lie with adult politicians, drivers, policy makers and traffic engineers, not with the children themselves.

Spot on. Comprehensive pedestrianisation should be far higher up the agenda in our cities than it is. Nearly wherever cars go, cities get worse. Nearly wherever they’re removed, those urban spaces flourish.

Overdue reform to feudal leasehold laws good example of why everything takes so long to get done: consultation paralysis. The new legislation may be needed-but holding another consultation *next* summer? Too much consultation (which protects vested interests) one of the big problems with our system.
