Since this Sunday is Easter, for those who celebrates, I think this is a really fun and healthy idea for an Easter basket. I will definitely try this out with my friends and family, and honestly is a great fun way to bond before finals season. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

This is very cool to came across as we just touched base with obesity these past two weeks. I did not know that our hormone receptor can be associated with our own body fat. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353
For >20 years obesity was thought to be associated with reduced dopamine receptors in brain reward regions. Now, a big study by @vdarcey.bsky.social shows that this may be have been an artifact (top figure panel) due to brain dopamine tone being positively associated with body fat (bottom).

I think this would be fun to incorporate into my meals. Dandelions have been used for decades in traditional medicine for various conditions, including liver issues, digestive problems and now can be in recipes as well. A great way to add more fiber to meals. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353
#Dandelions are a wild food. The young spring leaves are a great green salad, and the older leaves are great when cooked or used as a pot herb. #DandelionDay www.canr.msu.edu/news/dandeli...

It is more sustainable to learn to have a healthier relationship with food than to set up unrealistic expectations for diets. The salad was a start for him with keeping up to his lifestyle changes. With clients, I want to offer realistic changes that caters their needs. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

I think it's so important to recognize these financial barriers and education barriers when it comes to someone's diet. There are factors like racism and food security that goes into affecting how much access to heathy and affordable food one has. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

I learned that children obesity can be caused by decreased physical education, recess time at school, lack of access to healthy affordable foods. We need to understand because like Corden said, fat shaming is bullying behavior that does not acknowledge these struggles. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

A barrier that I relate to is "Unhealthy diet of
friends and family" as I still live with my parents. Sometimes it's hard to cook something that is more healthy when my family is used to specific home comfort dishes. We go heavy on sodiums and sugars sometimes. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

I love a good bowl of ramen. To make it more nutrient dense instead of instant ramen, I'll swap for buckwheat soba noodles, variety of greens like bok choy, spinach, green onions, fermented kimchi, chicken based soup broth, chicken/or beef. And to have lower sodium! #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

This salad looks really good, and it has good fibers and fats for our body. Though I do wonder how long it takes for fiber to be fully digested through our small intestine @beh353.bsky.social #beh353
Ordered this salad. It has all the nutrients u need (arugula-quinoa, broccoli-artichokes-sweet potatoes-eggplant-seeds-olive oil). I couldn't eat it all. 👉 It highlights how whole foods can help manage ur appetite & prevent overeating, & therefore promote weight loss/control.

We just learned that according to data...most Americans don't get enough fiber yet most are concerned with getting enough proteins. Eating fiber also feeds the gut microbiome and I've read studies where our gut affects all kinds of areas in the body like mental health. #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social
A #high-fiber diet reduces harmful #bacteria in the gut and supports good gut bacteria, that produce beneficial compounds like short-chain fatty acids. Since most Americans don’t meet the daily #fiber recommendation of 30 grams, fiber is truly a nutrient of concern. www.healthday.com/health-news/...
