Sebastião Salgado is my favorite photographer by a mile, and I'm so heartbroken to hear of his death.
If you're unfamiliar with his work, I highly recommend His books Genesis and Exodus which fiercely advocate for our precious natural world and our fellow humans who are displaced from their homes.
Sebastião Salgado: Legendary Brazilian photographer dies at 81
He was known for dramatic and unflinching black-and-white images of hardship, conflict and natural beauty.

“The Sierra Nevada is five hundred miles of rock put right. Granite freed by glaciers and lifted through clouds where water, frozen and fine, has scraped and washed it into a high country so brilliant it brings light into night.”

Ahwahnee "the land of the gaping mouth"

Such a fitting name for this place. The high cliffs seem like a mouth gobling up the sky. Also makes your jaw-drop when you look at it! 😲

Had break out the color on this morning…

“Veil after veil of thin dusky gauze is lifted, and by degrees the forms and colours of things are restored to them, and we watch the dawn remaking the world in its antique pattern.”

A reminder. Nature always helps. Here's some flower portraits. I believe photography can have some meditative qualities. Just observing and capturing moments can have a calming effect. #flower #photography #photo #art #artist

At first, today's morning looked pretty dull. But shortly before sunrise, the colours started dancing for a few minutes. Witnessed the spectacle at Lake Chiemsee, my doorstep location. Bavaria, Germany
