The driver was found guilty. Would face a 6-month ban, but appropriately, the judge limited it to a shorter period. While a repeat offender, that was the most decent driver I ever met in court. We shook hands and wished each other the best. Good people can do bad things behind the wheel.

MET gave me proof that they treat collisions more lightly than less serious traffic offences. We raised it before as an issue that will damage the public trust in them. That is a systematic failure for the force.

Honestly I hope this year will finish asap. Since October I was out of commuting post the crash with the van, later due to dental problems and strong painkillers and now this massive flu tide. This is my reading last week.

Killing by dangerous driving (but this behaviour hardly ever would be prosecuted even as careless). 2 years. Imagine any other way to manslaughter that is treated so lightly, like driving. #fixourbrokenjusticesystem #murderislegalinuk www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article...

Let me know if any wheelie friends would like to do a Christmas lunch together on Friday or next week in Kensington. If no one, then still, warm cheers and dress for the weather ;)

I really like the mobile experience of SOH used by most forces in the UK. I managed to do this report while waiting for a train while the driver still was crawling in his destination.

The bike is now with Ben.
Ben is a magician.
Next week hopefully back in the saddle.
Carry a helmet and cam in case I have to Lime it in the meantime.

So we're back @metcc.bsky.social @rbkccouncil.bsky.social : Diplo units parking on double yellow, blocking junction visibility ahead and forcing cyclists to the main lane. And no, they aren't responding to anything. It's a typical van abandoning place

That will rattle some, but there are cases that IMHO are not worth reporting at this point to MET. More. Reporting them can cause more harm than good today (in future, that may change).

What is in the illegal mopeds that their users ride like d.s? I'm not talking about delivery riders. One "smart dressed" and with cam almost mowed my kids while zig-zaging to the footpath. Never saw a cyclist behave this way here. Speaking to local PC to organise some action.
