you end up as Schrodinger's refugee, as the Danes call it. On one hand as a migrant you have to integrate, learn the language, raise your kids as British, etc. On the other from one day to the next you may be sent "home" to a country your kids have never known.

Thanks but Sorry still don't understand completely. Directly to what? House circuit? Or standalone appliances? In UK you can power appliances off the ring main. But not to ring main - (grounding and trip risks).

A high-carbon ad ban would have an even bigger impact.

I agree that the heavily biased media and people's lack of questioning of it is a critical problem. Maybe you're right that it's bigger than the need for electoral reform - but it does lead to v significantly undermine voting choice.

In short, the problem here is not that Signal ‘chose’ to run on AWS. The problem is the concentration of power in the infrastructure space that means there isn’t really another choice: the entire stack, practically speaking, is owned by 3-4 players. 11/
