I don't understand a single word of this sub-headline. Long live American Baseball!
From @theathletic.bsky.social: Virat Kohli, the world’s most famous cricketer, has announced his retirement from Tests. The 36-year-old’s international future had been the subject of intense speculation in India.

The entire canon of western "rule of law" is grounded on a pillar of private property rights. If parliament allows this, then every marxist remaining should swoop in for the kill. Let the proletariat rise up with no middle-class of property owners to stand in the way.

@chanda.bsky.social is so right. The answer to nearly everything that seems illogical or irrational or un-democratic about America is always racism. Always.
So one of the reasons South Korea is a healthier democracy is that it’s a relatively homogeneous country and racism can’t be used as an effective tactic for attacking democracy. The psychological wages of whiteness in the US are a key reason authoritarian attacks on democracy in the US succeed
South Korea is an healthier democracy than some other powerful old democracies.

That actions have consequences, even for the most powerful, is truly the basis. The minimum for a democracy.

Jay: I think social media should be basically common infrastructure that society gets to use and evolve it as society evolves, building a more democratic form of social media to reflect a democratic society.
