"We are going to have to live here with each other" is the exact premise that Republicans do not agree about. Their proposition is mass immiseration, mass expulsion and mass murder. The only way to oppose political violence and avoid further political violence is to contend directly with that fact.
"All I can say for me in the work I do is that I want to create a space that takes our disagreements seriously, that takes the stakes of them seriously, the consequences for people seriously, but does so without deepening our divisions irreparably. We are going to have to live here with each other"

THIS is what the extreme right are doing with Kirk’s murder.

Using it as a license to purge.
I’m officially scared.

Because of this ONE tweet being afraid of potential reverberations of right wing political violence from this — something many others have said — I’m now the first result on a website called “charliesmurderers.”

This is putting me in genuine danger.

What the fuck do I do

It's bad that somebody tried to shoot Trump.

It's bad that somebody shot Charlie Kirk.

And it was bad when crowds broke into the Capitol building chanting that they planned to hang the VP.

This is why pardoning those responsible for political violence is a stupid move. Do you see it now?

Justin Webb just referred on Today to "platforms like Bluesky, where you can see the celebration of the killing" of Charlie Kirk.

What I'm seeing on here is overwhelming condemnation; despair at the violence of US politics; alarm at where this might go; & calls for equal horror at other shootings.

Okay, so what I've seen so far isn't generally rejoicing over Kirk's death, more a refusal to grieve and widespread dread at what the Right will do with this latest trigger.

You know what would be good FBI experience for identifying violent criminals in a large crowd? The agents who investigated January 6.

Who have been/are being fired.

So MSNBC reportedly fired Matthew Dowd tonight just hours after Jesse Watters called for his "immediate" termination over his Charlie Kirk shooting comments.

Meanwhile, Watters said he's going to "avenge" Kirk's death because "they are at war with us" -- and he'll face no repercussions from Fox.

If Billy Joel wrote “We Didn’t Start the Fire” now (and made it the same length as the original) it would only cover, like, six days of history.
Anybody else feel like this week has been an exhausting month?

SCOTUS ✅️ racial profiling, Epstein bday book, Nepal's on 🔥, Israel bombed Qatar, French gov collapsed, Israel bombed the flotilla x2, mass protests in France, Poland invoked article 4, two school shootings

And it's only wednesday

I don't remember seeing any calls for violent retribution after a Minnesota state senator was assassinated, and it would have been nice not to see any today.

We don’t yet know what motivated the person who shot and killed Charlie Kirk, but this kind of despicable violence has no place in our democracy. Michelle and I will be praying for Charlie’s family tonight, especially his wife Erika and their two young children.

Nor does it necessarily take Article V of the table.
NATO Article 4 is the “we must discuss a threat to NATO territory ASAP” provision.

NATO Article 5 is the “we must mobilize to defend NATO territory ASAP” provision.

Article 4 has been called on.

Article 4 does not necessarily lead to Article 5.

It's the leftists' incendiary language that killed Charlie. If they weren't so fast and loose with their rhetoric, he'd still be alive.

Which is why we need to grab our guns and obliterate everyone on the left.

So they haven’t caught the guy and you don’t have a ton of leads? Maybe sending all your federal law enforcement agents to help ICE and dismantling the JTTF and firing the head FBI field office for political reasons wasn’t the best idea.

The president went on TV to attack political opponents and blame them for the killing of Charlie Kirk, even though we don’t know who shot him.

If there is anything this man can do to worsen the situation, he will do it. Despicable.

The NYPD officer killed by the active shooter was an immigrant from Bangladesh. He had 2 kids and a 3rd on the way. The US State Dept travel advisory for Bangladesh is level 3; “Reconsider Travel” for violence, crime and terrorism. He died here, for us, shot with a Colt M4 rifle. Think about that.

Exactly. Once they admit he’s done one bad thing, there can be no stopping point, as he’s a bottomless pit of moral depravity. And once they step on that slippery slope, they can’t escape their own culpability. So instead they look away, and lie to others—and to themselves.
