Preparing for my
@mongerspodcast.bsky.social interview with investigative journalist Andy Webb about his new 'Dianarama' book and I had to laugh at his description of Public Eye, the BBC show I worked on with Martin Bashir - and yes I was the director of 'Cash of Care?'

Because I smashed the Tudors last weekend, I’m being nice. If you’re going to listen to anyone talk about that heinous mob, pick Nathan, and @estelleprnq.bsky.social
Sitting in a pub looking to complete my new talk on the Propaganda of Henry VII. I'll look at the illusory truth effect, how the more someone is exposed to a message, the more they believe it to be true. And Henry had a message he wanted spread.

And yes, I have a gingerbread man

Nice moment of cultural cross over at Osterley today @nationaltrust.org.uk Diwali meets Robert Adam. Indian style inside a Wedgwood tea pot!

And given the house was decorated by East India Company cash, all rather appropriate!

I finished listening to “1944: The Reckoning” by @philmcraig.bsky.social today, and now I’m sad because I didn’t want it to end! I got attached to many of the people he profiles in the book (especially nurse Angela). I’m going to have to listen again from the start. Beautiful book, well narrated!

Having read "1945: The Reckoning by @philmcraig.bsky.social, I thought I would revisit Bernstein's "China 1945" to carry on the theme. Highly recommended for those who've come across the "Who lost China?" question and want to explore in more depth.
