I have a feeling that the BBC are not getting any sense of enjoyment whatsoever on reporting on the Trump Epstein story this morning 😉

I think both leaders were also trapped by the lurch to the left/right by their parties after their election defeats and had policies that they most likely didn’t agree with but lacked the power base to change them

The Commission is chosen by leader of member states elected governments and elected by European Parliament. I also think the EU President should elected by the people but it means member states losing power of choosing the Commission and iirc Thatcher vetoed this idea when proposed by Juncker

Ed became leader too soon. I think he’s become a much better politician now.

I’ve always wondered if it’s the same as the Candyman Principle

The Beetlejuice principle should now become an important legal principle?

Tbf Johnson is the world leader in complete and utter bollocks.

On 29 June 2024, Farage publicly announced a boycott of the BBC. On 14 July 2024 he appeared on The Sunday Show and apparently it was Farage himself who called the show’s producers

It’s not the first time they’ve decided to fluff Reform. Remember Chris Mason going dewy eyed at their Conference?

‘Woke Right’

How 1984 of him

Using a phrase which is self contradictory

Like Ministry of Peace wages War. Ministry of Plenty imposes poverty and Ministry of Love pushes hate.

Whereas the term Woke Right actually embraces intolerance. injustice and inequality.

Let’s not forget that American involvement in WW1 was a lot less in WW2 while the Americans involvement may have been important in WW2 there impact on WW1 was not as significant and the Allies were likely to win anyway.

Without Royal Navy D-Day could not have happened. 75% of ships were RN ships. 40% of troops on D-Day were British. 13% were Canadian.
Without British bases, logistics, and Royal Navy, U.S. couldn’t have reached Europe at all. And to be blunt without Soviets, Allies couldn’t have beaten the Nazis

They do need to get rid of McSweeny and find a competent media person to k ow how to message properly. The media here also have to accept a lot of what Labour has already achieved has not been reported widely either. Forgive my cynicism but if it wasn’t Labour in charge we would have heard more

Messaging has been poor but they’ve never been in government before. I would add that I have some sympathy for Starmer with the Prison crisis for example in the sense that the media are now demanding answers to problems they’ve simply ignored for 14 years

With a supplicant Supreme Court any loophole Trump can claim find bypassing the 22nd Amendment the Supreme Court will support it.

It goes back to UK voters simultaneously demanding Scandinavian levels of public services on US levels of taxation. The impatience and demands for immediate improvement by the media and many voters is also beyond ridiculous and media are discovering problems that they ignored for 14 years
