So let me get this right. If we put up #Betfred ‘s tax they’ll shut down all their shops. It can’t be that easy surely.

The real 'two tier' divide in British politics is between the wife of a Conservative councillor calling for refugees to be burnt alive, being treated as a brave 'political prisoner', and the protestors calling for the end of mass starvation and genocide, being treated as domestic terrorists

I think @robertshrimsley.bsky.social is much too kind to Jeremy Hunt here. In time, Hunt will come to be reviled as second worst chancellor in modern times after Kwarteng. In 1997, faced with similar circumstances, Ken Clarke put the national interest first. Hunt salted the earth. Shame on him

#R4PM Who makes the decision to cut David Petraeus so we can give the ludicrous Grant Shapps or whatever he’s called today, the chance to make some cheap political point ref events in the Middle East? In what world would anybody be interested in what he has to say

This morning on #R4Today Ex Trump Advisor Stephen Moore of the Heritage Foundation said all the economists are wrong about the current Tax bill increasing the deficit as they were about the Tax bill in 2017, by about a trillion dollars. Any economists out there care to comment? @jdportes@bsky.social

Just watched the 1st episode of BBC doc #Immigration:HowBritishPoliticsFailed Closes on Farage saying disparagingly, with a straight face, that post Brexit immigration policy was “more about rhetoric than reality, just about telling the British people what they wanted to hear”. Fucking Shameless
