I doubt the production team have any idea who Norman Vaughan is, let alone be prepared to phone in and take a shot at it!

It's not a case of the memory cheating. The originals are on Challenge every night. The ATV series are a bit ropey, but once we get to the Central era its in its stride, sad #Bullseye theme and all. This remake misses the mark.

Just finished the episode. Like a lot of modern telly it struggles with pacing, mainly because its a half-hour show stretched out to an hour. The constant clapping when anyone says anything is grating. The 301 dart challenge revamp sucks. What on earth is the golden dart?
So much wrong! #bullseye

Ironically, investing in local radio could have delivered more digital content and helped new voices establish themselves. The shrinking of the local band shows is a good example, while specialist music shows had a space: Stereo Underground's life beyond local proves that!

Project Kangaroo would have given the UK a headstart on the streaming era. It seemed a bonkers decision not to go ahead at the time, hindsight makes it worse.

But I also wish they would correct the thinking that every show has to be lavish CGI/shiny floor with an all-star cast. Nurture talent!

So much of where the BBC is now is a direct result of John Birt's reorganisation: Producer Choice effectively killed the many BBC departments and the collabs that allowed for mash-ups like All-Star Record Breakers and the newsreaders on Morecambe and Wise.

That and Project Kangaroo being nixed...

Part of Nabisco which took over Huntley and Palmers IIRC

Yep. Was thinking that The Traitors is one thing, but we need a Mr Swallow magic hour, a Cat Burns concert, and David Olusoga guessing on a Cluedo revival.

What I don't understand is they have a shedload of stuff on ITVX that could be broadcast on the main channel ... or wasted in graveyard slots. For example, Star Trek Strange New Worlds could have easily filled 10 Tuesday evening slots: whack 'em out at 9pm. Sorted.

I've just started the set and, goodness, Zygons manages to both look amazing and awful. Sometimes in the same shot.

I remember this vividly- my parents had guests round so I was banished to my room and watched these treasures on the portable telly. Glimpses of a mysterious Who past... and the juxtaposition of Mestor next to Davros.
