💥 Great to see @philbrickellmp.bsky.social flag the need for the Ministerial Code & Independent Adviser to be on a statutory footing. The Public Office (Accountability) Bill – or #HillsboroughBill – is a crucial opportunity for the govt to finally act on this key recommendation from ethics experts.

Delighted to welcome new German Ambassador Susanne Baumann to Parliament @germanambuk.bsky.social.

I look forward to working with the Ambassador to help deliver on shared UK-German interests, from cutting irregular immigration to boosting growth and security.
Excellent first meeting with the APPG on Europe with a good discussion on bilateral relations, security & defence, trade and migration, as set out in the #KensingtonTreaty. MPs will play a key role in bringing the treaty to life. Look forward to working with the APPG on Germany.

Steve Reed certainly should be looking at asylum accommodation contracts break clauses.

Private firms awarded Home Office contracts to house asylum seekers & making significant profits in the process are unaccountable, opaque and unwilling to meet elected members.

This urgently needs to change.

Dan - quite rightly - points to the need to diversify retail investor portfolios & flags that many FTSE firms are listed here, but derive most of their revenues abroad.
The British Isa is a particularly bad idea
Isa investors are already badly exposed to the poor performance of the FTSE. Why would the government want to make it worse?

Reuters reporting on what we already know - that Reform is accepting crypto donations.

As a former anti-corruption specialist, let me be clear. Crypto should be nowhere near UK politics.

The risks around anonymity, tracing ownership & manipulation of instruments are all good reason to act.
New: Farage confirms my scoop for @theobserveruk.bsky.social from two weeks ago, that Reform has started to receive crypto donations

He told Reuters that Reform UK had already received "a couple" of donations in the form of crypto assets, without giving further details
