Ah, haven't heard that one. Doesn't sound ideal.

Seems like the platonic ideal of a politician: reasonable, compassionate, nothing to prove. In it for the public good. He's what I like to think I'd be like as a politician - if I was also the super hot charismatic former captain of a national rugby team. 🤷‍♂️ #AusPol

Ted is a shorthand name for Edward, an Anglicised Eduardo. On anyone else it wouldn't be that notable to go by a middle name, but certainly his party's positions make it raise eyebrows.

You can also have as many follow lists as you like to create different feeds. I think you can share them - an idea borrowed from here - but I've never done it myself.

The default view is chronological based on your follows, so "power over what you see" is mostly a non-issue. There's also a "trending" algorithm based on what people from your server interact with. I do really like the idea of multiple and custom algorithms here though - it's a great feature!

I don't really know what means? That's technically true of every website and app in existence. The main difference in Mastodon's favour is there are lots of different servers, and many of them are community-volunteer run.

Mastodon has its own issues, but server control isn't a big one to me.

I spend most of my time there and don't see any problems, which is not to say they're not there. I guess there are many different servers, some run by psychos, some by normal people.

Mastodon founder handed over "benevolent dictator for life" ownership and authority to a non-profit org, where it now sits. techstory.in/the-founder-...

In the context of the caption "Make them pay", a plastic/carbon tax on these companies would be pretty effective.

It was about ghosting people on Tinder but that was a lifetime ago and at least two Twitter exodes.
